Bobby Hutcherson

I don’t usually post tape synchs I do for other shows, but a few weeks ago I got to do a tape synch with vibraphonist Bobby Hutcherson for WBGO’s The Checkout on the occasion of his being honored by the National Endowment for the Arts as a Jazz Master.  Mr. Hutcherson is a talented, creative, thoughtful musician, and also a very kind man. It was a real honor to get to meet him.

You can hear The Checkout’s interview with Bobby Hutcherson. It’s an hour-long show, but the interview with him is first.

Congratulations Mr. Hutcherson!
